Surfing

Balian Beach, a short 5 minute drive away or a 20 minutes walk on the beach at low tide, is well known for its consistent waves and it attracts surfers from around the world. Expert surfers can venture on the waves alone, while others might want to get a surfing lesson, which can easily be arranged with local guides. The Cove is also 30 minutes drive from Medewi, which offers one of the longest left-hand waves in the world.

Cooking Class

Chef Wayan will be happy to host a cooking class upon request. From the staples of Indonesian food such as fried rice or noodles and satay ayam, to the more exotic fish wrapped in banana leaves, freshly made sauces and tropical fruit jams, cooking at The Cove is entertaining and easy to arrange.

Yoga

There are two daily yoga classes in Balian, held in a yoga shala facing the ocean and the river. If it is preferred, private yoga instruction can be booked at The Cove either on the pool deck or on the front lawn.

Grass Tennis Court

Playing a game of tennis is always fun, even more so when it can be done barefoot on a grass court. The regulation size tennis court is for the exclusive use of guests, and can also be enjoyed for a family game of volleyball, badminton or football.

Fishing

It is fun fishing at The Cove! The rock formations around the beach give plenty of opportunity for a change of scene. Join the local fishermen and see who catches more, while enjoying the waves and the sun.

Swimming Pool

The 14 meter rock pool at The Cove, perched above the beach, is perfect for relaxing, playing, or an invigorating swim. Splash, dive or float and enjoy the beautiful views and the gentle swaying of the coconut trees.

Rice Field Walks

Few things are as unique to Bali as the terraced rice fields, and the area around The Cove boasts some of the most serene and beautiful opportunities to enjoy these incredible vistas. Take a walk, enjoy the quiet, watch for birds, and let yourself be enveloped by the spirit of Bali.
